We had this exact problem on 5.1 MP3A.  We stayed at MP3A but put in the
BPSCHED binary for MP4 and everything is working great !  We will be
proceeding with a formal MP4 upgrade.

Aha, so http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/268122.htm appeared in
5.0GA.

It says it affects 5.1, but doesn't specify the MP levels.....may not
have been any MPs released at that time.

That's what I'm betting on.
