You did install the version of NDMP that matched the base product? There
are MPs for NDMP as well.

This is just a single Master/Media server? If you have the "NetBackup
for NDMP" on another media server (so you define the STUs there) you also
have to have the licence on the Master.

Lastly although you can have mixed-rev with a 5.1 Master and a 4.5 Media
server, with NDMP there is an incompatibility and the GUI does not show
the correct attributes for the STU types. If you try defining a STU on
the 4.5 server using a 5.1 Master, it lists the Media Manager, Disk, NDMP
types, but shows the DSSU attributes for an NDMP STU - so you cannot
create it. You have to use the CLI. Sloppy coding.

[Veritas-bu] enabling NDMP

So....I've enabled, NDMP and been usign it in my lab.

Todya I try to create an NDMP storage unit on my production box, and NDMP
is not in the list of Storage Unit Types.

Only selectable options are Disk, Disk Staging, and Media Manager.

I can create new STU's on my lab box, and I get those three options +
NDMP.

I have Netbackup for NDMP Server installed, license key entered, I've run
the auth command against the Filer, ndmpd is running on the filer, daemons
have been bounced on the NBU master.

I can add a drive, and set it up like an NDMP drive and the nsame of the
filer shows up as the NDMP host in the drive config, so that's interpreted
correctly.

WHYWHYWHY???

Paul
