Keep in mind that user backups only have 1 backup attempt - one small =
glitch and it's over. A manual or scheduled
backup performs as many attempts as specified. Retry until successfull =
completion.

Justin,
bpbackup is for submitting "user" backups, hence it can only use a =
Schedule of type "User Backup". The user has to specify what they are =
backing up, so the concept of full or incremental is irrelevant.
If the client is in the client list of several Policies, the user can =
specify which Policy to use. But that Policy must have at least one =
Schedule of type "User Backup".
If you have multiple "User Backup" Schedules in the policy, the user can =
specify which Schedule to use.=20
On UNIX, root can run bpbackup with the -i parameter, and specify any =
type of Policy. But only root.
Check the help for the bpbackup command.
And one last thing - "class" is the old term for "policy". The terms are =
interchangeable for now, but you should try to use "policy". So if you =
are running bpbackup with the -class xxxx parameter, you are telling it =
to use the Policy named xxxx.

Dean

The client would like several classes, ie:
=20
Database
System
Incremental
=20
With different retention polices.
When I use bpbackup (by default it uses the USER (I have Full, =
Incremental and User).
=20
I've not done that much testing but I could not get it to use the Full =
policy, it kept using User-must I create a separate "class/policy" for =
the user to be able to backup to that class?
=20
Ie:
=20
Full Backup call it: Database-Full
System Backup, call it: System-Full
=20
Then use the ./bpbackup (dash)-option -CLASS Database-Full - then it =
should use the Database-Full schedule within the client's policy, yes?
=20
Anyone work with bpbackup any multiple polices and schedules - could =
they please shed some light on this issue?
=20
Thanks,
=20
Justin.
