Hi,

=20

Having tapes in scratch pool is not enough, make sure the tapes what all
you have in scratch pool is for correct robotic number. For example in
particular tape library you don't have any free tapes left but in the
scratch pool you have tapes those all are in different library.

=20

how many robots / media servers do you have ?

Is your scratch tapes in the media data-base as unassigned?

=20

Have these scratch tape been used b4 ?

Are they over-writes, do U have overwrite all media specified?

Setup a test policy using only scratch pool, then run a test policy
backup using the scratch pool

run a backup on the test policy and if the tapes are scratch and not
mounting then the=20

tapes are not scratch, expired, write prot, etc... Bad tapes, frozen
maybe, run a media list report

and put the status in the column layout.=20

Frank,,

Also verify that the scratch tapes that you have in
the library aren't expired or have reached their max
mounts. I went through this banging my head on the
wall for sometime before finally realizing that the
tapes had reached their max mounts.
