how many robots / media servers do you have ?
Is your scratch tapes in the media data-base as unassigned?
=20
Have these scratch tape been used b4 ?
Are they over-writes, do U have overwrite all media specified?
Setup a test policy using only scratch pool, then run a test policy =
backup using the scratch pool
run a backup on the test policy and if the tapes are scratch and not =
mounting then the=20
tapes are not scratch, expired, write prot, etc... Bad tapes, frozen =
maybe, run a media list report
and put the status in the column layout.=20

Frank,,

Also verify that the scratch tapes that you have in
the library aren't expired or have reached their max
mounts. I went through this banging my head on the
wall for sometime before finally realizing that the
tapes had reached their max mounts.
