They're pretty expensive, and our budget doesn't allow for replacing a
couple thousand tapes every year. The recommended is, I believe, 25 mounts
(which works out to a yearly schedule if you're on a two-week retention) for
DLT III/IV, but I agree with Mark. I wait until they become "questionable,"
and then set them up for degauss/destruction.
