Hi Mike,
We are all confused about the namse???
In the script file,

SYBSERVER=MNANOMC1 <------------ what should it be? How can I verify
the name?

DATABASE_NAME=MNANOMC1 <-------------what should it be? How can I verify
the name?

My apologies... I misread the error.

It's complaining that you're telling it to use a database that doesn't
exist. Check your "syb_MNANOMC1_dump" file for the "use" command and
make sure you're specifying a database name and not the server name.

You can email me that syb_MNANOMC1_dump file if you'd like and I can
look at it.

Hi mike,
It seems to be okay.
The value in the interfaces file is MNANOMC1.

Regards,

Asiye

On the command line of your ISQL session:

/opt/sybase/OCS-12_0/bin/isql -Uxxxxxxxx -Pxxxxxxxx
-I/opt/sybase/interfaces -SMNANOMC1 < ./syb_MNANOMC1_dump Msg 911, Level
11, State 2: Server 'MNANOMC1', Line 1: Attempt to locate entry in
sysdatabases for database 'MNANOMC1' by name failed - no entry found
under that name. Make sure that name is entered properly.

-SMNANOMC1 is where you're telling ISQL to connect to MNANOMC1. That
has to match what you have in the interfaces file, including case
sensitivity.

Hi Mike,
Where can I see "-S" flag?

The server name is case sensitive for Sybase's ISQL. Make sure that the
case for your -S flag is correct.

For SYBACKUP_SERVER you have it in lower case, but your -S flag has it
in upper case.
