Don't know why you have the set up that you have, but
=20
the intention of DSSUs is that they are dedicated to staging, in other
words we want to leave the images on disk as long as possible, so that
if we run a restore it comes from disk rather then from tape. DSSUs only
get cleaned up when we run out of space on the DSSU itself. This way we
leave the images on disk as long as possible and we don't have to worry
about the cleanup after, as NBU will do that for you......
=20
For this reason you should never put a DSSU on the same filesystem as
something else.
=20
6 is even better and you can set thresholds on how full you want your
DSSUs to be etc etc, but I don't think that you need that at the moment.
=20
Cheers

        Solaris Master NB 5.0mp5=20
=09
I have had to create a dsu for each of my tape drives.=20
=09
I also had to create a DSU for each of my retentions.=20
=09
        so i have=20
=09
        tapedrive1-daily=20
        tapedrive2-daily=20
        tapedrive1-monthly=20
        tapedrive2-monthly=20
=09
My daily DSU are almost equal in size and they seem to
individually not to run out of space. They seem to delete(or zero) the
previous backed up data.=20
=09
It appears that I'll need to, at the end of the month, remove
the data disk copy of the data that went to the tape from the daily, run
the monthly tape and then delete the monthly data that got written to
tape successfully.=20
=09
What's the best way to remove files from the DSU once they have
been backed up? right now I'm rm -rf the monthend.=20
=09
Man i hope this works better in version 6.0
