Hm..
=20
You may be right, but what I believe that is 539 648 Kb, is the amount
of kilobytes that had to be read until it found the file on the tape (or
disk).
If you watch a restore you will see the kilobytes increment rapidly in
the log and activity monitor as it parses through the tape looking for
the file.
Have you tried restoring a different file that is > 0 bytes? IE:
/var/log/messages or such?
=20
Justin.

Hi
=20
Thanks for the suggestion, but as you can see from bptm log, the file
size on tape (and image data) is actually 539 648 Kb.
=20
bptm log:
mpx_read_backup: successfully restored 1 of 1 requests, read total of
539648 Kbytes at 34969.414 Kbytes/sec
bptm read all the data but nothing reached the client!
=20
Regards
=20
Marianne

When restoring did you check the file size in the Restore tool?
=20
09/07/05 1:19:51 PM: [3284]: TAR - restore:
1 files
09/07/05 1:19:51 PM: [3284]: TAR - restore: file data:
0 bytes
=20
It appears it was 0 bytes when it was backed up, thus when you
restore, it will be empty.

We have an 'interesting' situation at a customer - the restore
is reported as being successful, but the file size on the client is 0.

Restore to another client has the same result.
