Master server: Solaris 8, NBU 4.5 fp8=20
Clients: Solaris 8, NBU 4.5 (various)=20

Does the master do the calculations to determine whether a file needs to be=
 part of the incremental backup (Differential Incremental) or does the clie=
nt do it?

What Logs on the Master or the client could I watch (and turn up the debug =
level) to catch what is being "considered" for a backup?

I have some important files that are not getting backed up during increment=
als and now I have to "explain" why they are getting skipped. I know the f=
iles are not open and not in use by any process.

I can initiate a manual backup from the GUI pick the differential schedule =
and watch the job in the activity monitor. It will exit with a status of 0=
 (zero) and list no files as being backed up. Bplist nor bpflist show any =
files being backed up during the job.

I can also set the schedule to run very frequently (just to ensure that it =
is not an issue with initiating a manual incremental) with the same results.

Thanks.=20
