Is anyone having difficulty with NetBackup 5.1MP3 & Legato DiskXtender
5.50.033?

We are having an issue where an archived file that has been successfully
fetched is being backed up, but is restored as a stub. NetBackup
indicates the size of the file, but in reality it's just a 1k
stub/shortcut.

The fetched file functions normally otherwise. This situation can also
be recreated with NT Backup. Apparently Legato stores their attributes
in the OS2 data stream, and doesn't reset the attributes (totally
release the file) when it's fetched.

Legato says it's working as designed...  Veritas has other Legato issues
with previous versions ("We did come across an issue in the 5.0 version
with DiskXtender product, which was resolved in 5.0 MP5")which caused
status 13 & 42 errors; but they never sent out an alert. Apparently they
have an internal document that their technicians can view for those
issues, but nothing is posted in the customer accessible knowledgebase.
I'm wondering if there might be a similar document for the current
situation?

Veritas says Legato has to fix how they handle the files. Apparently
Legato doesn't think not being able to back up a fetched file is an
issue. Microsoft was engaged, and hasn't said Legato is doing anything
wrong. Argh!
