I was doing some test reads of my (LTO1) backup images for diagnostic purposes,
using Unix "dd".

I was curious that reading 2 images of backups of identical systems taken at
slightly different times
took different times to read, and dd reported a significantly different number
of records.

Looking at bpimagelist -L for these 2 images, they have almost identical
Kilobytes and identical
number of files, and took about the same time to write.

I then noticed the "offset" numbers, both different, as being very close to the
number of records reported by "dd".
It rather suggests they are related. I had assumed it meant something
different.

What is it supposed to mean?

Many thanks,

Mike Ellwood
