I am using Netbackup 4.5 on Solaris.
The command for catalog backup is "bpbackupdb" I set cron job to run it
daily. I believe there is the same or similar command in Windows.

Catalog backup tape must be in Netbackup pool and the status is 0x1
(1-catalog). I don't know a command to change volume status to 0x1. So I do
it manually.

You don't want catalog backup too automate, because once a tape is used for
catalog backup, it can not be use by any other backups.

Koping

I have a question for anyone that has Netbackup 5.0 on a Windows
platform...

What's the best way to automagically back up to tape the catalog files?

I keep having to do it manually, and it's a pain.
Everytime, I gotta move the tape to the Netbackup volume group.
Then, I gotta changed the media ID to the tape I just moved into the
volume group, and eventually backup that way.

Is there a way to automate it, either with a batch job or with the console
itself?
I just want it to be as simple as "backup the catalog every morning at
8:00 AM to tape in slot 7" or something along those lines.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
