Yes it is. Using the GUI or bpadm it will come to the point where it
asks if you want to lay down the files to an alternate directory.
Specify the directory. If you need to lay down the files on an alternate
host AND directory/file system then you can specify that too.

Alternate host and directory:

1.) Specify the source host

2.) Specify the destination client

3.) Pick the image you need for the restoral

4.) Start the process of initiating the restoral. It will prompt you if
you want to specify a different directory. Specify the directory you
need.

Restrictions (as it applies to "normal" files)? Destination client needs
to be a NBU client. I have not had to lay down an Oracle database on an
alternate host with an alternate directory, but I have got to believe it
is similar.

Is it possible to recover a directory to a machine other than the one it
was taken from?  If it is possible can someone point me to the manual
where it is described?  I am intertested bith in a filesystem recovery
and an Oracle RMAN recovery to a machine other than the source of the
backup.
