I wonder if the below could be applied to the bp.conf file on the UNIX
side. Does anyone know for sure?

        Hi,
        =20
I was thinking that it could be possible to just change a
registry key when i discovered you used Unix. =20
        =20
Checked out the NB help file (running NB5.1 MP2 here) and found
this. Is this what you are looking for ?=20

Changing the Default on a Permanent Basis=20

Since the bpdbjobs database resets to default conditions upon
reboot or cycling NetBackup Services, you may want a more permanent
means of indicating how long to keep jobs in the Activity Monitor.=20

Use the following method to add new registry key(s) to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\NetBackup\
        CurrentVersion\Config=20

To do so safely, from a command window, run:=20

        install_path\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\
        echo KEEP_JOBS_HOURS =3D 192 | bpsetconfig=20

Where 192 is the number of hours that all jobs (both successful
and unsuccessful) will be kept in the jobs database (or Activity Monitor
display).=20

To retain only successful jobs, enter:=20

        echo KEEP_JOBS_SUCCESSFUL_HOURS =3D 192 | bpsetconfig=20

As I understand those options, they only work with the "-clean"
option, and therefore will only operate on the data that is currently
saved in the database. What I mean is, if the current data stored is 3
days worth, and I issue the following command:
        =20
           # bpdbjobs -clean -keep_succesful_days 7
        =20
I am still going to only have 3 days worth of data.
        =20
Perhaps this command is being run automatically in a script
somewhere by NetBackup. that would explain how the data gets cleaned
out. If I could find where NetBackup is running this command, then I
could modify to keep more data!

                Hi NetBackup-ers,
                =20
I'm wondering if there is any way to increase the
amount of past jobs information that NetBackup keeps and displays in the
Activity Monitor. Right now, it looks like NetBackup keeps information
from the last 800 or so jobs. Can I increase this somehow to the last
1500 jobs? or is it date based? And if so, can I increase the number
of days kept?
