Yup, I've done this.

Nope, no special Gotchas.

Really, go slow, follow the directions, backup your directory first to be
sure, and be thorough.

Windows clients weren't included in our upgrade plans. Just too hard to do
with too little payback. The v5.1 handles v4.5 clients just fine. Make
sure you put the MP2 patch in for v5.1.

Hi all,

I am testing a NetBackup Enterprise 5.1 installation in my lab and I
upgraded from 4.5 MP6 to this version. The upgrade went very smoothly,
but I would like to know if anyone else has done an enterprise-wide
upgrade from 4.5 to 5.1 and if so, are there any stumbling blocks to
watch out for?

Our environment consists of two Solaris master servers, three Solaris
media servers and about 200 clients of Solaris and Windows types. I also
have three remote sites that I manage with a single Solaris master
server in each location.

With the large number of clients, I am also looking for notes on the
client upgrades (particularly the Windows clients) and any issues
encountered in that process as well.

Thanks in advance.
