There are two manuals, Veritas Netbackup 5.1 Commands for Unix and its =
counterpart Veritas Netbackup 5.1 Commands for Windows. I have used the =
4.5 and the 5.0 versions of both of these manuals as well.

There have been a couple of responses saying to use the -U option. =
Since I'd mentioned I'd read the man page I didn't think it was =

not have nearly as much information as seen in the output of the =
-allpolicies. I'd really like to find what all the fields in =
-allpolicies output mean. It seems silly that Veritas gives this output =
with no way of parsing it out for scripts which is clearly its intended =
purpose.

My desire for this information is I want to create a script that dumps =
the active policies and compares them to cron jobs we have running same =
to be sure that we aren't missing backups for certain DBs after they =
move as seems to happen here frequently. Since I want to dump this the =
"active" though used as an example below is only one of the many fields =
I will want to use.

When one does the above command it gives a result for each policy =

Unfortunately neither the bppllist man page nor the Admin guide appears =
to detail the fields. =20

By doing man on bpplinfo I did find a lot of information that seems to =
correspond. Specifically it lists the INFO line seen above so it would =
appear the 12th field there indicates whether the policy is =
active/inactive. =20

On looking through the archives I found confirmation for this in the =

What bothers me about this is that both the original poster of that =
question and I are actually getting 22 total fields on this line =
(counting "INFO" itself as the first field). However bpplinfo's man =
page only describes 21 fields (again counting "INFO"). Also the person =
who confirmed field 12 as the active/inactive flag gave only 20 fields =
in his example. It seems there are variations the available fields for =
bppllist so I need to find out where I can get a definitive list to =
insure I'm using the correct fields as I script. =20
