Hi,
=20
A number of people, including Eric Ljungblad,
emin.calikli AT finansbank.com DOT tr <mailto:emin.calikli AT finansbank.com
DOT tr>
and J R [tekkdude AT yahoo DOT com] have pointed me in the direction of the
"vmquery -deassignbyid" command, which has exactly the outcome I was
after. Thanks to all.
=20
Cheers,
Tim Lane.

Subject: bpexpdate query

Hi,
=20
I have a Solaris-based 4.5MP6 installation with three media servers. I
used to have four media servers, but one of them was untidily
decommissioned. Now I have the problem of expiring tapes written on the
fourth media server (I said it was untidy). The description of the
"-host" option on the bpexpdate(1M) man page describes my situation
exactly, and the command I want to run is:

        bpexpdate -m SX0148 -d 0 -host mymediaserver

but this produces the message "host is unreachable" and exists with
status 47.
=20
Any suggestions?
=20
Cheers,
Tim Lane.
