Hello,

We want to use Synthetic Backup's, but I don't know if we have a problem
with our Veritas Catalog. At first we used Veritas Netbackup 3.4.1
(1996?), converted to 4.5 (2002?) and we use at this moment 5.1 MP1.

With 3.4.1. we used an ASCII catalog, which we have converted to Binary
with 4.5 (or 5.1 MP1). When a make a backup, I have indeed the *.f
catalog file's, so they are Binary.

In the "Notes on Synthetic Backup" I read that < Synthetic Backup's
cannot be created with ASCII catalogs OR converted Catalogs >

Do they mean I cannot use Synthetic Backup's at all (while we have
converted the Catalog a long time ago) or that we cannot make Synthetic
Backup's with our OLD backup sets, but we can use/build "Synthetic
Backup's with the Backup's we are making now?

=20

Thanks.
