We just upgraded from 5.0 MP3 to MP4.  So far, so good.

>From what I've heard, unless you need a feature like encryption in 5.1,
stay at 5.0 if you're already at 5.0.  All the bug fixes for 5.1 will
also be applied to 5.0.  When 6.0 MP1 comes out, you might be safe to
upgrade then.
