Juan,

Build the new cluster with the virtual name of the existing Master server,
and do a simple bprecover (see troubleshooting guide for step by step
processes) and then build the media servers in any order you want. If you
are going to change the Master server's name, call VERITAS consulting or get
ready for a lot of work, that if done incorrectly will not be supported by
VERITAS.

Good luck and HTH.

Thanks,

Rockey J. Reed

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Suggestions Migration from AIX Master Server to HACMP
AIX Master Server

Hi, all:

I have the following environment:

- 1 AIX Master Server
- 1 Linux SAN Media Server
- 1 Windows SAN Media Server
- different clients

and we are going to migrate to the following:

- 1 HACMP AIX Master Server (these two machines are
different from the actual Master Server, and are new)
- 1 Linux SAN Media Server
- 1 Windows SAN Media Server
- different clients

Which is the easiest way to migrate? Perhaps install
NetBackup in the cluster, configure everything
(robotics, Storage Units, Policies...) and then import
the media?

Every idea is welcome.
Thanks in advanced,
Juan Fau.
