Hi,

Thanks for the info. I added /etc/mnttab to the
exclude_list for that client and backups skipped over it and kept
going...until another file with a "future" timestamp was found. Then it
bombed again. The problem is that I can't add every file to the
exclude_list because they are files that are new and need to be backed
up. I also can't change the timezone on the client to match the time on
the backup server. Is there anyway to "overlook" the timestamp on a
file and back it up anyway?

Thanks.

It's because /etc/mnttab on a solaris system is a special device file
that's read-only. It's not a file you need to backup. Just put
/etc/mnttab in your exclude_list for this client.

        Hello,

I am running into problems backing up a unix system
to a Windows2000 netbackup server. I am getting an error "cannot reset
time stamp on /etc/mnttab". I checked the date on the unix system and
it is running GMT time instead of EST like the Windows server. However,
I can't change the timezone on the unix client because of processes that
rely on a GMT timestamp. Is there any work around? And will the
backups for an entire filesystem fail when one or more files with
"future" timestamps on them are encountered?

        =20

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

        Thanks.

                    Donna
