Assunto: [Veritas-bu] Unable to restore imported images
Hello.
I'm having alittle trouble with restoring some imported images.
I duplicated an Oracle RMAN backup and with the intention of offsiting
it without Vault. To ensure things worked properly I wanted to import
and restore it to an alternate system. So here is where it is...
I've imported the duplication. Because it's a seperate NetBackup
server there is no client entry or class for the images to associate with.
If I do a bpimagelist with no argements except to display images
avalible with some distant start date I can see them. However if I
supply a client name or class name, even though the image records match
they aren't displayed. The real problem is that I can't figure out how
to restore them. Using xbp they will not show up. And, because it's an
rman backup the filenames aren't easy to pull, because there should be 2
files (the 2 backup peices made by Oracle RMAN) but there are 10 images
on the tape.
Can anyone tip me off as to how to restore this thing? I tried adding
a client and a class similar to the one on the origonal backup server
but that hasn't done anything. I dug throught the mailing list and
Veritas support site but still can't get anything working.
Any help is appreciated. (FYI, I'm using NB 3.4)
benr.
