If you are using Windows server as a master server?

You can create a new folders in <installpath> Veritas\netbackup\logs called
bptm, bpdbm, bprd, bpdm these folders should be helpful,

Or run by double clicking on the mklogdir.bat file and it will create all
the folders for you, you can delete the folder you do not need but only if
they

Are not in use or Netbackup services are stopped.

By creating these folders it will automatically start logging - keep in mind
logging can slow these down a little bit, specially if you create these logs
on the servers

Being backed up, you can run that mklogdir.bat on individual servers as
well to debug issues, but the only way to turn them off is to rename the
folders or delete them.

Check the Windows event viewer, application and event logs for specific
error event ID: ####

If this problem just started? What changed? What Service Pak and version
of windows master / media server ?

Most of all what drivers are loaded for the tape drives ? At least, what
firmware version on the tape drives?

This issue maybe resolved by installing the Veritas Tape Device Drivers. On
the install CD, in addition products, tape drivers, install and reboot

And check things again.

To allow overwrite - In the Media server, properties, media tab allow
overwrite -
