Hello,
I have a media server which has reserved a large number of shared drives
in my SSO environment.
I initially tried releasing them, using "vmoprcmd -crawlreleasebyname
<DRIVE_NAME>", but they remain reserved.
When I check the media server (Win2K), it appears that for some reason,
it has lost the device driver for these tape drives.
Usually, I would re-apply the driver, powercycle the drives & run the
release command again. However, in this instance, I cannot re-install
the drivers & can therefore not release the drives... Catch 22 !!!
Also, a reboot is out of the question, since this server is a production
machine & currently very busy.
What I am worried about, is that this server has hold of 16 out of my 24
shared drives, which I guess will make them unusable by the other media
servers.
Does anyone have any magic up their sleeves that might enable me to
remove these reserves ?
