        The main reasons that I know how can cause this error is the OTM
configuration and system resources aren't enough (memory mainly) if you are
using multiplexing.
        You can analize better creating the log dir bpbkar on the client,
increase the verbose log to 5 initialize the backup and analise the log.

Hi,

I had a similar problem when I rebuilt one of my win2K servers though not
through netbackup.

I had some shared folders which would get the "Access is denied" error. I
suspect what was happening is that although I had all the user accounts
moved over the uid's were different. Once I went into each directory as
administrator and took ownership the "access denied" error went away.

Maybe the shadow image is not propagating ownership properly?
Just a guess.

Hope this helps.
