[Veritas-bu] Backup over network, restore via SAN drives
2004-07-14 11:26:10
It's all about media servers. If you backup over the network to a specific
media server and wish to restore from a different media server (in this case
with direct access to the drives), then you can move the related media to
the other media server.
Use: "bpmedia -movedb -m <tapenum> -oldserver <Old_media_svr> -newserver
<New_Media_Svr>"
-M

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Backup over network, restore via SAN drives
Hi All,
Am running Netbackup 4.5 MP6 on Windows 2000 and have a number of
4.5 MP6 media servers which share drives in STK L700 robotic library using
SSO.
When doing alternate client restores from backups taken originally via the
LAN from a standard client, to a media server which has shared drive access,
is there any way to specify or configure so that the restore uses the SAN
shared drives rather than attempting to restore via slower network?
I would really appreciate any suggestions or guidance
Best Regards
Paul Wilson
