hi -

wierd issue,

i have a system that is backing up another system and the filesystems are
getting about 28-30 mb /sec when i do an oracle rman backup the system
gets about 4-6 mb/per channel , 2 channels , why am i not seeing the same
performance as the filesystems? i have VOS engaged (veritas oracle sun)
and they can't seem to figure it out , i have sent bptm, supports , bpbrm
, bphdb, dbclient, etc. logs and everything looks normal no wait times on
bptm , net buffer size and size data buffers are all setup correctly. the
systems are 2 v1280s in a cluster with l180 w/sun dlt320 tape drives , all
st.conf parameters are tuned , sg.conf setup fine, network interfaces have
no collosions/errors , both are set to 100fdx duplex . The rman
configuration is setup for 2 channels 5 filesperset, if i do 4 channels i
get 3-4/mb per second , if one channel gets 11mb /sec

...having a hard time with rman...

dave
