Mark,

We had the same problem and opened a call with Veritas. So to fix the
problem we run the following from cron a couple times an hour otherwise we
would run out of disk space the next time the backups ran . . .

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpimage -cleanup -allclients

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] NB not deleting disk image files after expiration time

I've got vault duplicating a disk storage unit to a set of tapes and
resetting the on-disk copy to an 8 hours expiration.

That part seems to be working OK. NB does not seem, however, to be deleting
the on-disk copy after expiration like it should. This should be part of
the core NB behavior and not related to vault doing the duplication.

md> ls -lt /diskbackup

md> bpdbm -ctime 1085773002

Here's an example. The first FRAG is the first copy. You can see the media
as my disk STU. The second FRAG entry is the second copy (copy num is 2nd
field) and you can see it on D04303. If I convert the copies' expiration
time to something readable, you can see where the first copy should've
expired last Monday and been deleted. Yet, here it is.

Ideas?

This is v4.5 FP3 on Sol 8. The disk STU is a NetApp filer NFS mount.
