Dan,
We had to modify our /stand/system file and take out the autochgr and add a
line for sctl. After the kernel rebuild, our ioscan looks like this:
autoch 0 1/0/14/0/0.120.15.255.0.0.0 sctl UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN
HP ESL9000 Series
This was on an HP ESL9000 library, TLD robot, with HP N class server running
11i & NB 4.5 MP5

Subject: [Veritas-bu] add robot to 4.5 on HP-UX
Greetings, all.
We're moving our environment to a new box. Kept the host name the same,
bolted the old jukebox across, added one too.
However, on the wizards, it only sees the drives, not the 'bots. I can
see them in ioscan (see below):
autoch 1 0/7/0/0.1.0 schgr CLAIMED DEVICE OVERLANDNEO
Series
/dev/rac/c5t1d0
tape 2 0/7/0/0.2.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE QUANTUM
DLT8000
/dev/rmt/2m /dev/rmt/2mn
/dev/rmt/c5t2d0BEST /dev/rmt/c5t2d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/2mb /dev/rmt/2mnb
/dev/rmt/c5t2d0BESTb /dev/rmt/c5t2d0BESTnb
tape 1 0/7/0/0.5.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE QUANTUM
SDLT320
/dev/rmt/1m /dev/rmt/1mn
/dev/rmt/c5t5d0BEST /dev/rmt/c5t5d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/1mb /dev/rmt/1mnb
/dev/rmt/c5t5d0BESTb /dev/rmt/c5t5d0BESTnb
autoch 0 0/7/0/0.6.0 schgr CLAIMED DEVICE OVERLANDNEO
Series
/dev/rac/c5t6d0
ctl 5 0/7/0/0.7.0 sctl CLAIMED DEVICE Initiator
/dev/rscsi/c5t7d0
But, when I put /dev/rac/c5t1d0 (for example) in as the robotic path,
I get 204 errors when I try to inventory it.
I can use the volmgr utilities to see the robots, too. I seem to
remember that there's some funky HP mojo that needs to be done, but I
can't find it in the manual.
Can someone help, so I can go home? :>)
TIA,
-dd
