Hi Kevin,
I applied the patch NB_45_6_M_S1406.hp_ux.tar (there is an equivalent
Solaris one) last night and this morning all backups have completed
successfully :-)
Investigation appears to show that the bug was introduced with 4.5MP5 then
fixed with 4.5FP5 and reintroduced with MP6!!!
I would recommend that you try the solution at your site.

Solaris 8. Funny thing was that our vendor suggested to either go for MP6 or
upgrade to Solaris 9.
No solution so far ... pretty irritating because the frequency of the
status 50 is just unbearable =(

v4.5MP6 last week and since then I have been getting a number of jobs
failing with status code 50. Looking back through the list it appears as
though this is a known fault with v4.5MP6 and that there is a special hotfox
which remedies it.
I have located what I believe is the necessary patch for my HP-UX system
(NB_45_6_M_S1406.hp_ux.tar) and would like to know if anyone out there
installed this additional feature pack; and if so does it work?
Any help most appreciated.
