thats good 2k/2k3 have that... cheryl, if exchange is a 24x7 system, write a
script to backup to disk with 2k/2k3 backup or get the agent... you wont have
many choices as stopping exchange at any time isnt an option, but if you can do
it, you can use the normal netbackup client to backup the file system where the
exchange db's reside. note: for this to be effective with logs you would have
to use circular logging which is not a good idea at all for 24x7 shops..

Good evening

At least at the w2k and e2k level the default windows backup command will write
to disk.

with out the agent you wont be able to backup the db in a reliable manner
unless you use nt's backup. i havent used that in some time so i dont know if
you can dump to disk with it. i would recomend using the agent, unless youre
doing circular logging, if you dont get a backup of exchange, it will crash as
your logs will run the disk out of space

familiar with MS Exchange and I need to backup some Exchange servers. We
currently don't use any of the add-on client products for databases and don't
really want to for Exchange. Can you backup an Exchange server without
purchasing the Exchange client?

Is anyone backing up a Cisco Unity System?
