Okay gang,
I have a serious problem at this point. I have 3 machines I am trying to
move the data from to a single new machine. These are call logging servers.
They have a good deal of data. Approximately 400 gig with 8 million files
and an equally large number of directories.

Here is the directory structure:
E:\
E:\Data
E:\Data\01-jan-2002
E:\Data\02-jan-2002
Etc...

In order to break those directories up into smaller bits I created a policy
with the following file list:
E:\Data\*2002
E:\Data\*2003
E:\Data\*2004

I turned on 'allow multiple data streams' and when I kicked it off it
created about 500 jobs. I went ahead and let them run.

Now I am trying to restore and am having issues.

It seems that if I select one of the images at a time it will restore them
well enough. If I select several it runs for awhile. If I select the
entire load of images the BPRD process grows to use 1.5 gig of memory. Not
a problem the master/media is a quad with 4 gig of memory. But after a
while it errors out not able to open a socket. If I resume the job it tells
me what tapes it needs but just sits there forever. If I stop all of the
Netbackup services and kill any related Netbackup processes on the master
when I restart the services I can then submit a new job and it will restore.
It is not limited to one of the three source server backups. Once I get
into that state of being restores being hung none of the restores will run,
even restore for different machines. I cannot keep killing the Netbackup
services because I still have the other two machines to backup and I am
trying to them with different policies that will back up each year (*2002,
*2003, *2004) in one stream. So it is currently at 105 gig and 85 gig
backed-up.

Anyone seen a problem like this??? Oh yes, pertinent information:
Master/Media: Netbackup Datacenter 4.5 FP5 on Windows 2000 SP4
Source Client: 4.5 FP5 client on Windows NT 4.0 SP6a
Destination Client: 4.5 FP5 client on Windows 2000 SP4
