[Veritas-bu] Gigabit backup problems

I think this would only be tangentially related to your problem, but...
With Windows and Linux (not sure about Solaris), the SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS
is measured in bytes, so if you were looking for 256K you should set it
to 262144.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Gigabit backup problems
Hi,
We are experiencing backup problems in a NBU v4.5 FP5 gigabit IP
environment
between Windows/NetWare clients at gigabit speed and NBU master/media on
Solaris 8.
We get status 41, 42, and 249 (TIR) regularly but manual resubmission of
scheduled job that failed works cleanly.
Master NET_BUFFER_SZ = 256K (as per Veritas support issue)
Client NET_BUFFER_SZ varies from 64K to 256K
Tapelib = ATL P4000 with 10 SDLT220s firmware v70
Communications between NBU master/media and tapelib:
NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS = 16
SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS = 256
Network is Cisco 6509s core switches and 3750J gigabit edge switches.
Has anyone run into a similar problem and if you have how did you solve
the problem?
Thanks,
Earl Lindberg
