I?ve heard the rumor that Netbackup 5.0 or 5.1 will read/recognize the
backup exec format. (I have not verified this yet)
If that is the case what we plan to do is when we need a restore import the
tape then perform the restore.

I?ll be speaking with our Veritas rep tomorrow and will check on this with
him.
Anyone else heard or know?

We want to migrate our backup exec environment to Netbackup 5.0. Our plan is
to have one Unix master and two windows media servers. Our main concern in
reading old backup exec tapes. We were told by Veritas that we could convert
those tapes at a cost but we have plenty and the amount will be very high.
Has anyone done a migration from Backup exec to Netbackup? If so how did you
solve these issue?
