are you talking media server or master?

media is easy, build the new server and then use bpmedia -movedb against 
each media id to move the media db from one media server to another.  you 
can use bpmedialist -h media server to get the list of media ids you'll 
need to move.

master is much more complex.  search the list archives, this has been 
asked and answered in detail dozens of times...

We are in the process of migrating from Solaris to Linux for our Backup 
Server.

If my memory serves me right, isn't the backup db tied to a host name?
