I have had several request to share my script, I call it NBCC for
netbackup consistency checker...
Although no one has submitted requests in the form of an Andrew Jackson
(just kidding)
So Let me write up a little documentation, and then I will share it. =20

Hi Taylor,
I've had similar issues in the past with inconsistencies in the various
databases and went the same route through Veritas support. I would love
to have a script to check this myself- and is on my long list of
"to-do"s. Would it be possible to get a copy of your script to check
out? I'd really appreciate it.

Something interesting to do is run the consistency check. This
will generate a report of consistency between your media db
(bpmedialist), the volume db (vmquery), and the images db (bpimmedia).
You can do this with the bpdbm -consistency 2 I believe, but the
Netbackup support people actually have a better program they can run if
you send them the output of a vmquery -a, a bpimmedia, and a bpmedialist
-l. =20
=20
They will then send you back a report showing the following 6
scenarios.
(Some are worse than others).

1.)
Media ID's that show up in the Images Database but not in the
Media Database:

So of course, I want to be able to do this whenever I want, so I
ask for the program/script and they say its not available for public
release, so I wrote my own in perl, and it works. It's a good tool to
discover dbase problems..
