Nope, no ACSLS. We've got a (hopefully temporary) workaround of ejecting
the outstanding tapes but its less than ideal. I've seen the situation
happen (different company) on a 9310 but we had a UNIX script that would
split up the tapes into increments of 40 and eject each batch seperately.
Actually, that brings me on to another quick question - when manually
ejecting from W2K NetBackup 4.5FP4 to our L700, the manual eject will put
the tapes into the door and then wait FOREVER (well, about 20 mins) until
it gives us the prompt that its okay to click "Close". The library is
effectively frozen until it says eject complete - any suggestions?

David Attreed.

RE: [Veritas-bu] L700 Ejects only max 40 tapes
Are you using ACSLS? Cause this sounds like the same problem we had with
our 9310 STK Powderhorn. What we found out was you can't eject more from
Netbackup than your total max MAP capacity (which for us was 82, x4 20
tape caps and x2 1 tape caps). Not sure why it works this way, just seems
to be a limitation of Netbackup.

Good morning,
We're having a situation where our L700 is only ejecting a maximum of 40
tapes (1 door installed so 2 x 1 load) even though there is more than 40
to be ejected on the daily scheduled vault procedures.
The tapes it is ejecting appear to be a random 40 off of its list
regardless of when the tape was last used, etc. Have NBU 4.5 FP4 running
on W2k.
Any hints? TIA!
Regards,
David Attreed.
