Hi, all

I've been playing with NBU 4.5 FP 6 in prepartion to migrating NBU 3.4
backups from an older Master/Media DLT7000 library setup.
I also plan to add Windows (NT, XP, 2K, etc) clients to the mix.
There have been performance issues on all platforms (Unix, NetWare,
Windows) using a SAN attached STK L700e w/12 IBM LTO2 Drives.
On Windows clients there is no setting to modify the buffer size. My
question: Is it legitimate to modify the registry entry "Buffer_Size" in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\NetBackup\CurrentVersion\Config to
some value other than "0x00000020 (32)" ?
I'm thinking perhaps "0x00000100 (256)" to match the NET_BUFFER_SZ value
on the Solaris 9 NetBackup server (Sun V440).

Another rant from
