I just did this this weekend by specifying the parameters in the channel:

run {
 allocate channel t1 type 'sbt_tape'
parms="ENV=(NB_ORA_CLIENT=client_backup_ran_from,NB_ORA_SERV=master)";
 restore database;
}

What we've found when doing an alternate client restore for an rman
backup is that the rman script pulls everything out of environmental
variables.  In order to get the restore to occur on an alternate client,
the alternate client's environmental information needs to be hard coded
into the rman script so that it won't pull those parameters out of $ENV.
