We have experienced this to with Solaris and 4.5 DC FP3, our only
recourse was Reboot. We have had better luck with FP5. FP3 is a "GA"
release and many of the Veritas tech Support will tell you upgrade....
Helped us.

The only time we have had something like this happen is if the job we
attempted to kill was a catalogue backup process. NetBackUP does not
like that at all.

I have a NetBackup 4.5 FP3 media server on Solaris 8. We ran into a
problem last week and had to kill a specific job/pid. This job could not
be killed. . We finally had to reboot the media server. It did come up
clean, but it took 3 attempts, starting netbackup, before the vmd would
start. Has anyone ever ran into a problem like this? thanks!
