for bpmedialist, -M and -h options are available. since you didn't use
them, -M defaults to the master server of the host where it is being ran
and -h defaults to all media servers configured with a media manager
storage unit on that master, so you would expect to see the same thing
from the master and the media server.
when you use bpmedia to unfreeze tapes, there is no -M option. since you
didn't use -h it defaults to the host where it is being ran, so you
wouldn't expect it to work from both servers.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Catalog database on the media and master
server
Hi all, I have a question about catalogs and location. We have a master
server and media server which are two different machines. When I run the
bpmedialist -U on the master server I get one list of media and when I do
a
bpmedialist -U on the media server I get an almost identical list. If I
try
to unfreeze media on the master server, I get an error stating that the
media is not in the database, when I unfreeze this same media on the media
server, I am able to unfreeze the media. Is this setup correct?
Thanks in advance,
Cecil Hypolite
