[Veritas-bu] Designating tapes for Catalog Backups.

Modify the catalog backup class (policy) - usually catarc - and choose some
specific pool.
Assigning tapes to this pool will keep the tapes exclusively for catalog
backups.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Designating tapes for Catalog Backups.
We are running NB4.5 in a solaris environment.
I have ten tapes that I need to designate as catalog tapes, so that normal
backups won't get written to them. There is no valid data on them, however
they have not been previously used as catalog tapes. I know once you write
a catalog to them, they won't be used for client backups. But, is there a
way to designate them for catalogs without actually doing a catalog backup
to them?
