Veritas has a 1024 path length restriction...
You should be getting a backup code 6.... Error code 99 is a summary
error saying nothing got done...
You should be doing fulls on both since the incremental may not be picking
up the long path name....

From http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/236221.htm:
Symptom:
Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) backup jobs exit with status 6. There
is
an NDMP <path length> limitation of 1024 characters, so path and filename
lengths greater than this on NDMP backups will cause an error in the bptm log.
Exact Error Message:
Exit Status Code 6: The backup failed to back up the requested files
Solution:
In the bptm log an error will be shown:
<32> bpfsmap: put_imgdbrec: internal error 2 inumber 5942788 <path length>=1046
This means that a file name being specified for backup is too long. There is an
NDMP <path length> limitation of 1024 characters, so path and filename lengths
greater than this on NDMP backups will cause this error.
