Platform Details:

        Sun + Solaris

        NetBackup 3.4

The problem:

From time to time, the backup of a (e.g.) 350 Gbyte partition
fails for one reason or another, e.g. after having filled 4 tapes and
begun the fifth.

To begin with, at least, N/B does exactly what it should and
re-starts the backup (usually with the tape previously being used) and,
in most cases, the second try works fine ...

... BUT, the problem is that the four "partial" tapes are
marked as FULL (in an "available_media" output) but do not appear
in a "Media Written" report (or "bpimagelist" output (same thing?)).
They seem to enter a "limbo" until they expire (even though they
don't contain a complete image).

        Anyone else seen this?

Cheers,

Richard.
