Hi all,
(Netbackup 3.4, Solaris 8)
I would like to give my helpdesk person the job of rotating tapes every day. I
have finally written the scripts to:
- search the library and report tapes to be ejected
- import and move the tapes to the scratch pool
I would like to thank everyone who provided sample scripts.
My next task is to create a script that checks the status of the system and
report any errors. I have Mark Donaldson's backup_exit_notify script which is
great for reporting failed backups but I guess I should be getting reports of
drives, throughput and bperror logs, does anyone have any scripts they would
like to share?
What other things should an operator be doing to check the system is working
correctly? Obviously we do test recoveries but is there anything else I should
do? I am fairly new to Netbackup and was thrown in the deep end....
Thanks,
Tim.
