OK thanks - I tracked it down in the end - the policy for the NetApp didn't
like ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES.

I've now got a backup running, but only getting 500kb/sec on a gigabit
network - anyone have any ideas (the hosts connect nice and fast to other
hosts, just the backup is sloooooow)
