Look at this technote from Veritas:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/236104.htm
It tells you exactly how to build your sg devices.  Everything is based on
the sg.conf and sg.links files.  You need to rebuild all your devices if you
add/remove a tape drive.

1.  Under what circumstances do you have to regenerate the sg driver
(sg.conf/sg.links etc)
                                                                       
                                                     
2.  Where does the sg get its information when it scans for LUNS (i.e

3.  If you add tape drives, do you need to rerun the configuration, or
do you put max LUNS to a larger #.
