[Veritas-bu] change tape's robot info
2003-10-21 14:08:47
Sure is.
>From the GUI just select all of the media in the "OLD" library and
change is residence to Standalone (or NONE depending on the version of
NBU). If the tapes have been put in the existing library when you
perform an inventory the residence of those tapes will now be assigned
to that existing library.
If you want the command line...you would use
vmquery -rn $OLDNUM -bx | tail +4 | while read id rest
Do
vmchange -res $m $id -mt $mediaType -rt $ROBTYPE -rn NONE -rc1 0 -rc2 0
done

Subject: [Veritas-bu] change tape's robot info
We recently consolidated 2 different libraries connected to the same
media server into 1 library.
Unfortunately, we have tapes according to "vmquery" that still belong to
the now defunct library. It seems an easy way to resolve this would be
to inventory the old library, but it is now gone. Is there a way to
change a tape's robot type/number/slot so that it does not exist in a
robot?
peace,
