Yes, but in order for the backup to be done to the client's local disk,
that client would have to be a media server. Backup Exec, allows you to
perform backups of a client to the client's locally attached disk
without the client having to have any "backup server" software on it,
but NBU requires it.
=20
UNLESS...you NFS mount the clients local disk to the MEDIA server and
designate the DISK STORAGE UNIT for this client's backup job to go on
this NFS mounted device...but this may not be ideal.
=20
As far as the restore, yes as an admin you can restore to an alternate
client.
=20
The CLI for backup is bpbackup *(bpbackup -h to see usage) and bprestore
for restoring files (bprestore -h for usage)

Hi all,=20
I would like to perform a client backup to disk. The disk saveset should
also be on the client machine. I would like to do this by command line
execution and when done I would like to restore files from this saveset
to another client machine. Is this supported by Netbackup?
Thanks in advance,=20
